Yearbook WED
Good day,
Agenda:
Jacky will be setting up to take individual shots of yearbook students. These photos will be in the Yearbook staff page. She has created an excellent template and it will be exciting to see the end result.
Josh has created backgrounds for the page templates and has some suggestions about syncronizing all of the pages so that they are the same (includes moving photos)
The pages that should be ALMOST complete are: just final edits when we get back from Christmas
-All grade intro pages: that is 3 two page spreads
-Grade 8
-Grade 9
-Grade 10
- Staff (Random staff)--have these templates even been made yet? what about placing the images?
did you decied about staff on the right side of page?
-Whole school random--TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS get a cool quote
-Cheerleading football--did you call Wallaces? Get a quote from head chearleader and captain of football plus football stats...photos from Brandon P grandpa.
Track and Field//cross country--whichever one is complete
THIS INCLUDES ALL OF THE RANDOM PHOTOS....uh oh that means you had better have taken lots of photos..remmeber the assignments--the walk about and the random shots. PLEASE!!!! Remember ALL RANDOM PHOTOS NEED TO BE OF STUDENTS IN THE CORRECT GRADES.
I will be checking on your walk about photos today.
Grade intro pages: Carly has been working hard on these and NEEDS photos.
We need to keep track of what photos are used.

Double block
Good morning, some of you have taken initiative and have borrowed cameras during lunch hour and break to take your candid photos. You will not find many during our yearbook block so be warned! you MUST find time for this assignment outside of regular class time.
Interesting photos can be found when students are hanging out at lunch, biking or boarding (however: today is a 'snow day' so you may have to be creative!
We are going to talk layout today and come up with a working template for each grade. Angela and Nicola have created one for each grade so now lets come up with something that will look like an article/ad to match our theme.

Yearbook scavenger hunt
YEARBOOK PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT
When judging the images keep in mind that we are looking for the best Yearbook image. There might be a shot of a shoe that is just plain vs. an image taken from an interesting angle or perspective.
Photo Scavenger Hunt
Rules: Each of these pictures will have a point value assigned to them (all photos are marked out of 3) Creativity is encouraged. Think outside the box. The image should make someone say “that’s a cool shot!”
• The receptionist at the school _____
• A place where students hang out _____
• A brand new pencil _____
• A picture of someone who didn’t know they were being photographed _____
• A messy teacher’s desk _____
• A clean teacher’s desk _____
• A new teacher _____
• Something cool in science class _____
• A sleeping student _____
• Someone studying _____
• A picture of school spirit _____
• People laughing _____
• A photo from above looking down _____
• A photo looking up _____
• A happy moment _____
• A teacher with a student _____
• Friends hanging out _____
• 4 different cell phones ( one picture) _____
• Fashion statements (clothes, piercing, tattoos etc) _______
Make sure 75% of the shots are portrait and 25% Landscape (turn the camera)
GET NAMES AND GRADES OF THE SUBJECTS (IF YOU DON’T YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND THEM ALL OVER AGAIN-LATER!!!) –label the files with the student names. I will check your folder for the assignment (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ONE!!)
-This is due next week (Friday I will check your folders in the Y drive)
You may photoshop the photos but keep originals in case you loose them.
